When you use Bolush, the following types of information may be processed:

• Account information such as name, display name, email address and user ID.
• Friend and group information such as friend lists, memberships, invites and group roles.
• Expense information such as title, amount, currency, payer, participants, split and settlement records.
• Messages and user content such as direct or group chat messages, expense notes and user-entered text.
• Photos uploaded for profile, group, chat or expense context.
• Location details only when you choose to add a place or coordinates to an expense.
• Notification data such as device or push notification tokens needed to deliver notifications.
• Limited technical records needed for security, session handling, debugging and service reliability.

How We Use Information

We use data to:

• Create your account and manage sign-in.
• Run friend, group, invite, chat and expense features.
• Show balances, debts and settlement status.
• Display optional photos and location details in the relevant group or expense context.
• Send app activity notifications based on your preferences.
• Protect security, fix issues and maintain service quality.

Third-Party Services

Bolush uses Google Firebase services. Firebase Authentication may be used for sign-in, Firestore for app data, Firebase Storage for photos and media, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications.

Email service providers may be used for email notifications or support messages. These providers process data only to provide the requested service.

Selling Data and Tracking

Bolush does not sell personal data to advertising companies. The current app is not designed for third-party advertising tracking. If advertising or cross-app tracking features are added, this policy will be updated.

Photos and Location

Photos and location are optional. When you add a photo or location to an expense, that content may be visible to the relevant group or expense members. We do not collect your full photo library or continuous location history.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data is kept while your account and groups are active. You can use in-app account controls or contact us at [email protected] for account deletion or data deletion requests.

Deletion requests are processed within a reasonable time, except where technical or legal requirements apply.

Security

We use Firebase authentication, access control and secure communication infrastructure to help protect your data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so it is important to protect your sign-in credentials.

Children's Privacy

Bolush is a shared expense app for general use. We do not knowingly target the collection of personal data from children. If you believe a child's personal data has been processed, please contact us.
